Productivity 2000 PLC Battery Installation The battery in the productivity 2000 PLC (P2000) is used to retain the real-time clock time and date. It is also used to keep the tag name values that have been set up as memory retentive. I prefer to have powered off of the PLC but this does not matter. Press the sping lock and swing the battery compartment away from the CPU. Insert the battery negative side behind the metal tab. Close the battery compartment. The battery is coin-type 3.0-volt lithium. This is battery number CR2354. When the battery is low there will be a non-critical error in the CPU indicating that it should be changed.
