Speaker introduction: 00:00; panel Q&A: 07:05 Date: February 14, 2020 Title: Pale Blue Dot: Perspectives On Our Planet Description: February 14, 2020 marked the 30th anniversary of Voyager I's famous Pale Blue Dot photograph looking back at the Earth from 4 billion miles away. This event is our contribution to the International Astronomy Union's global celebration of our planet and its future. We first screened a short film highlighting the impact of the Earthrise photograph taken by Apollo 8 astronauts (link below). Afterwards, we hosted this panel Q&A consisting of experts in climate science, sustainable energy sources, and planetary atmospheres, to discuss the future directions for our planet.
