Issues in National Security Lecture Series - INS Lecture 5: Space and National Security

Lecture 5: Space and National Security Space has become a vital domain for American national security. This lecture will survey the role of space from Sputnik to our new era of great power competition. The presentation will describe potential challenges to U.S. space security, how the U.S. has been responding to those threats, and other space issues including the emerging U.S.-China race for the Moon. The lecturer, David Burbach is an Associate Professor in the National Security Affairs Department and is Director of the NWC Space Studies Group. His professional interests include the intersection of international relations and technology, including space and nuclear security, as well as civil-military relations. Dr. Burbach previously taught at the Army's School of Advanced Military Studies and has worked for several information technology organizations. Dr. Burbach earned a PhD in Political Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
