In this video, when a homeowner was tired of guests walking into his laundry room, he wanted to separate the washer/dryer from the mudroom. Carpenter Nathan Gilbert knew what to do, framing a partition wall and installing a set of bifold doors to hide the clutter. SUBSCRIBE to This Old House: http://bit.ly/SubscribeThisOldHouse. Where to find it? Nathan helps a homeowner install bifold doors to hide a laundry and storage area. To map out the project Nathan used a laser level [https://homedepot.sjv.io/qzgdgb]. He then removed the interfering baseboard with an oscillating tool [https://homedepot.sjv.io/ZQPVk0] to make room for the frame. To cut the 2x4’s [https://homedepot.sjv.io/55jJbD] and drywall [https://homedepot.sjv.io/DyLxWG] to size Nathan used a miter saw [https://homedepot.sjv.io/75vKN5]. To fasten the frame together Nathan used multipurpose screws [https://homedepot.sjv.io/m5D46y] and to fasten the drywall to the frame he used a drywall screw gun [https://homedepot.sjv.io/anv2bZ] and drywall screws [https://homedepot.sjv.io/LXz0v3]. Nathan then assembled the bifold door kit [https://homedepot.sjv.io/YRdzde] which includes the jamb, door tracks, door handles, and the doors themselves. Nathan fastened the jamb into place with a nail gun [https://homedepot.sjv.io/MAQe5M]. He then assembled the door hardware based on the manufacturer’s instructions and used screws to hold the door tracks in place. Finally, Nathan added trim [https://homedepot.sjv.io/bO7d7g] to cover the door tracks and blend the doorway into the rest of the house.
