In this one minute guitar lesson we look at the E phrygian dominant or spanish phrygian scale scale - just one scale position to show you the concept of this interesting sound. Our characteristic notes are F (flatted second) and G# (major third). We can look at this scale in two different ways, either as phrygian with a major third instead of the minor third (hence the name phrygian major) or as the fifth mode of the harmonic minor scale. That means that there are the same notes in E phrygian dominant as in A harmonic minor! So if you watched the last video you can use that same exact fingering as E phrygian dominant scale now too!
