Full Transcript

In this video clip Raisin was about 13 months old. She understands where front position is through her puppy training. Now she is learning technical fronts with the acrylic rods which are able to help control her front and rear end. These fronts are taught when the dog is about 2-3 feet away from me, this is taught prior to putting fronts into a recall. Meanwhile I am working my recall separately from fronts and concentrating on building my dogs desire to come in fast. I want to build desire and speed on the recall prior to ever asking my dog to front. Front training is done outside of the recalls and I am simply teaching my dog where to sit in front and what straight is. I don't want to slow down the speed of my recalls by asking my dog to front. Obviously they need to gather up their gait to slow down to do a front. I do practise this of course, but I do ensure that it is not a requirement every time. Along with teaching the technical fronts with rods, I also play front games to ensure that fronts remain fun! This will be featured in next months video. Thanks for watching!
