Every pianist of any genre should be able to accompany a solo instrumentalist or singer. It raises awareness of dynamics, simplicity and rhythmic guidance.
Here then, I describe a blues progression in C, about splitting work between the hands, so you end up playing drums, bass and chords simultaneously, giving the soloist a solid basis that is sympathetic to the melodic cause!
