Part 12 of my series of tutorials on how to play the piano for complete piano beginners. In this one we're practising picking out trickier rhythms and learning some new scales. The accompanying PDF (see link below) includes a reminder/crib sheet for the different note and rest lengths you'll find in piano music, as well as some rhythm exercises to help you test your music reading skills. The new scales include A major, which has three sharps, which means three black notes to get your fingers round on the piano keyboard — useful for warm-ups and improving your general dexterity as well as expanding your music theory knowledge, as is the case with all piano scales!
