A division is breaking a number or an object into equal parts. For example, if you have 20 pens which you want to divide between 5 friends. You will have to divide in such a way that all your 5 friends get equal pens. So you divide 20 by 4. Hence each of your friends will get 4 pens without any pen being left over. There are parts of an equation of division. You have the divisor, the dividend, the quotient, and the remainder. The divisor is the number you are dividing with, the dividend is the number which you want to divide, the quotient is your answer and remainder is any left over.
