We use a lot of whole numbers in maths, but do you know that there are numbers which are smaller than one? Yes, you read that right. Numbers with are smaller than one are written using decimal. Decimal is a point or a dot used to separate a whole number from the fractional number. It is as any number from the number system. It could be in the place of ones, tens, or hundreds. The place value tells you how much the number is worth. Numbers which are on the right of the decimal are decimals numbers. As you go towards the left, the value of the number increases.
