Lectures at the MFA - Catherine Opie

Spend an evening with artist Catherine Opie and hear insights into her work, career, and creative practice, which has encompassed photography, film, collage, and ceramics. Opie was a 2019 Guggenheim Fellow recipient and the 2021 Robert Mapplethorpe Resident in Photography at the American Academy in Rome. Opie’s work has been exhibited extensively throughout the United States and abroad and is in over 50 major museum collections throughout the world. Her first monograph, Catherine Opie, was published by Phaidon in 2021. Opie received a BFA from the San Francisco Art Institute and an MFA from the California Institute of the Arts.
