Full Transcript
This is one of the pre-lab videos for the Teachspin Saturated Absorption Spectroscopy experiment which uses a Michelson interferometer to calibrate the time-base of an oscilloscope to the frequency shift of an infrared laser. Several hints are given for setting up the interferometer, aligning the beam, and interpreting the fringes.
The interferometer is simulated in Zemax OpticStudio using nonsequential mode.
The diode laser and controller are available from https://www.teachspin.com/diode-laser-spectroscopy. They also provide the rubidium cell and all of the necessary optical components and mounts needed to set up the SAS experiment.
OpticStudio is a product of Zemax (www.zemax.com)
