Queste due frasi sono entrambe corrette ma hanno due significati diversi. Vediamo: 1) “Abito a Londra da sei anni” significa che ho cominciato ad abitare a Londra sei anni fa e ci abito ancora adesso. L’azione continua anche nel presente. Verbo al presente + da + durata/quantità di tempo indica un’azione che è cominciata nel passato ma che continua ancora nel presente. 2) “Ho abitato a Londra per sei anni” significa che in un periodo del passato ho abitato a Londra per un totale di sei anni ma adesso non ci abito più. Verbo al passato prossimo + per + durata/quantità di tempo indica un’azione che è iniziata e finita nel passato e che è durata una certa quantità di tempo. Ecco altri esempi: “Studio italiano da tre mesi” significa che sto ancora studiando italiano adesso e ho cominciato tre mesi fa. “Ho studiato italiano per tre mesi” significa che ho cominciato a studiare italiano in un momento nel passato e ho smesso di studiare dopo tre mesi. Questa azione è finita nel passato. Adesso non studio più italiano. Potete usare i nostri video anche per imparare nuove parole. These sentences are both correct but have different meanings. Let’s see: 1) “Abito a Londra da sei anni” means that I started living in London six years ago and I’m still living there. The English equivalent would be: “I have been living in London for six years”. Verb in the present tense + da + length of time refers to something that started in the past and is still going on in the present. 2) “Ho abitato a Londra per sei anni” means that I lived in London for a period of six years in the past, but I don’t live there anymore. The English equivalent would be: “I lived in London for 6 years”. Verb in the present perfect + per + length of time refers to something that started and finished in the past and lasted a certain time. Here other examples: “Studio italiano da tre mesi” means I’m studying Italian at the moment and I started three months ago (The translation is: “I have been studying Italian for three months”). “Ho studiato italiano per tre mesi” means that I started studying Italian and I stopped after three months.
