To plot from model space in AutoCAD, follow these steps: Prepare your drawing in model space: Ensure that your drawing in model space is complete and set up correctly with all the necessary layers, linetypes, and object properties. Set up the page layout: Switch to the layout tab where you want to create the plot. Layout tabs are typically located at the bottom of the AutoCAD window. You can create a new layout tab or select an existing one. Set the drawing scale: In the layout, set the appropriate drawing scale by accessing the Scale property in the layout's viewport. This determines the relationship between the drawing's size in model space and its representation on paper. Adjust the viewport size and position: Resize and position the viewport in the layout to determine the portion of the drawing you want to plot. You can adjust the viewport's size and location by selecting it and using the grips or the Properties palette. Set the plot settings: Access the plot settings by selecting the layout tab, and then go to the "Plot" or "Page Setup" options in the application menu or Ribbon menu. In the plot settings, you can specify the paper size, plot style, plot area, plot scale, and other plot-specific parameters. Preview the plot: Use the "Plot Preview" option to preview how your drawing will look when plotted. This allows you to review the plot settings and make any necessary adjustments before proceeding with the actual plot. Plot the drawing: Once you're satisfied with the plot settings and preview, select the "Plot" or "Print" option to send the drawing to the printer or plotter. Make sure the appropriate printer/plotter is selected, and specify any additional settings required by the device. Review the plotted output: After the plot is complete, review the plotted output to ensure that it matches your expectations. Check for any issues such as missing or incorrectly scaled elements.
