Want to make your video start with a smooth, professional fade-in? In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to create a fade-in from black or white effect using Canva’s Dissolve transition. It’s perfect for intros, title reveals, or setting a cinematic mood right from the first frame.
Steps to Fade In from Black or White in Canva:
Open your Canva video project.
Add a new blank page at the start of the timeline.
Change the background color of this page to black (for a dark fade-in) or white (for a clean, bright fade-in).
Place your main video right after this blank screen.
Click the transition icon between the two clips.
Choose Dissolve from the list of transitions.
Adjust the duration slider to control how smooth or quick the fade-in is.
Preview your video and tweak if needed.
