The idea of first-mover advantage is similar to the old adage, "The early bird gets the worm!" Being the first company to enter the marketplace has such a strong correlation with the success. However, as with any strategy, being a first mover is not without its corresponding disadvantages. Knowing how to balance the benefits and downsides of performing as a first-mover can help the company maximize its market share and revenue.
