Do you use the Garmin 430 or Garmin 530 GPS? A lot of times ATC will give you vectors to intercept the final approach course on an IFR approach. This is a high stress time, not only do you have to readback a long clearance but you have to start your turn and get ready to fly the approach, so a short cut a lot of pilots do is to activate vectors to final.
