Full Transcript

In this session, we are discussing the importance of aligning the structure and systems of our organization with our strategic intent. Referring to McKinsey's 7-S Model, we discuss the different elements that need to be aligned to ensure a successful strategy implementation. As organizations grow, the organization structure needs to be adjusted according to the strategic path an organization takes, so we discuss key org designs that facilitate this process: Simple Structure, Functional Structure, Divisional Structure and Matrix Structure. Strategy implementation often requires major changes to the way the organization operates, so we then move on to talk about change management approaches. Finally, we end the session with a short discussion about ethical decision-making and two approaches organizations can use to guide their employees in terms of ethical conduct.
