In the 6th session of our Business Strategy lecture series, we finally start the Strategy Formulation process. For this, we are looking at Business Level Strategy, the most basic type of strategy, and a "must-have" for every firm. In a first step, we try to understand our customers and their needs, looking at how we can build "affiliation" with them. Then, we study Porter's "Generic Strategies" and try to understand why they work, and what their risks / pitfalls are. Finally, we look at the "Strategy Clock", a framework that incorporates the "price" element into Porter's Generic Strategies.
