What is pluralism? Broadly speaking, pluralism refers to the state of having more than one of anything. It is the coexistence of several diverse things, such as individuals, groups, opinions, principles, and practices. At the core of pluralism are the values of autonomy and respect for and tolerance of diversity. Pluralism can be applied to a wide range of contexts and disciplines, such as in society, religion, education, ethics, and politics.
