Back in Chapter 2 when I introduced scripts, I mentioned that I always find that students like to use the "Run" button to run their scripts. In this screen cast I demonstrate the use of the Run button with functions with input variables.
For this case, you can not simply click the Run button. Doing so is equivalent to typing the name of the M-file in the Command Window. The function requires an input, so this will not work. You need to click on the drop-down arrow and select "Run: type code to run". This is demonstrated here. But at this point, why not just get in the habit of running your scripts and functions from the Command Window?
