When updating your Shopify theme, some code changes are copied across to the new theme, and some are not. This mostly depends on one thing - whether your code changes conflict with the new updates. Generally, any new files you added to the theme (such as new sections) will successfully transfer to the new theme. However, if you edited any existing files, and if those files were also modified by the theme update, then it's likely that your changes will be discarded. You will then need the help of a developer to track down and re-integrate your changes. 👨💻 Developers that can help with theme updates: 1. Me (limited availability): https://ed.codes 2.
