IDAY: “I THINK I HAD SOME UNREALISTIC EXPECTATIONS…” In this week’s Failure Friday segment, we hear from a digital artist from the U.K. When he tried to launch an NFT project with 5,000 works of art, he sold only 10% before giving up and moving on. NOTES FROM CHRIS Episode 2190 I believe we can learn as much from failure as we can from success, if not more. It’s with this principle in mind that I offer you a weekly segment called Failure Friday: a collection of short stories all about mistakes, missteps, disasters, and of course, failure. Just like our Throwback Thursday segment, you’ll hear directly from side hustlers who have struggled to get something off the ground. They’ll tell you a short story of something that went very wrong. Today’s short story features Daniel, an artist from the U.K. He learned about digital art and NFTs, and then spent three months making his own collection. This collection would then be sold in 5,000 pieces as part of a “mint,” which is how NFT projects are launched. Anyway, that’s the setup—and as you might guess, it did not go incredibly well. Let’s hear the story from Daniel.
