Before starting his academic career in 2004, Andrew worked in the UK civil nuclear industry. There, he led science & innovation, skills, and infrastructure development in industry and at national laboratories. He has been Chief Scientist at the UK’s National Nuclear Laboratory and Director of the Dalton Nuclear Institute at Manchester. Professor Sherry’s main research interests are in structural and fuel materials for nuclear power, structural integrity assessment, and data-centric engineering.
