Master advanced PID control! Learn ramp-soak programming on the Productivity 1000 PLC for precise temperature control. Stop struggling with complex processes! PID Ramp Soak Instruction: The purpose of a ramp soak instruction is to make gradual, controlled changes in temperature (Ramp), followed by a temperature hold (Soak) period. We will be using our Proportional-Integral-Derivative PID instruction that we looked at last time to apply the ramp/soak instruction. Using the immersion heater in a cup of water to keep the temperature constant, we will adjust the temperature profile as we increase the set point (Ramp) and hold it for a predetermined time. (Soak) We will be modifying our existing program from the PID loop instruction. Let's get started. ๐Ÿ“– FULL WRITTEN TUTORIAL + DOWNLOADS https://accautomation.ca/productivity-1000-series-plc-pid-ramp-soak-instruction โฑ๏ธ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 - Introduction to PID Ramp Soak 0:33 - Previous PID Setup Review 0:49 - Average Instruction Configuration 1:38 - Ramp Soak Feature Overview 2:00 - Step Configuration - 75ยฐ, 85ยฐ, 70ยฐ 3:08 - Switch Control Setup 4:08 - Hardware Setup Demonstration 5:02 - PID Tuning Tool Access 5:44 - Enabling Ramp Soak Operation 7:26 - Complete Cycle Results 8:19 - Wrap Up and Next Steps ๐Ÿ“š WHAT YOU'LL LEARN โœ… Configure multi-step ramp soak profiles with up to 16 steps โœ… Implement averaging instructions to stabilize PID control โœ… Set up switch controls for enable, run/pause, skip, and reset functions โœ… Monitor and tune PID performance during ramp soak operations ๐Ÿ”— MORE RESOURCES โ–ถ Series: https://accautomation.ca/series/productivity-plc/ โ–ถ PLC Beginners Guide: https://accautomation.ca/programming/plc-beginners-guide/ โ–ถ Free eBooks: https://accautomation.ca (subscribe for download) ๐Ÿ›’ RECOMMENDED HARDWARE โ–ถ Training Kits: https://accautomation.ca/series/productivity-plc/ ๐Ÿ’ฌ Questions? Here are just a few. - 50MB user memory - Can handle very complex applications easily. - 4 built-in communication ports โ€“ Easy connectivity to your network. - Data logging up to 32 GB on a microSD card - Add up to 8 IP modules to communicate to your field sensors. This will give you a total of 128 discrete IO points or 32 analog IO channels. - Free Software and 30 days of free training with every CPU from Automation Direct. - Interactive PLC Configuration Tool - Tag Names - Auto-discovery IO โ€“ Physical I/O tags will be generated based on each module's position in the base. - I/O Modules have QR codes under the wiring cover. This can be scanned so you can have the latest specifications/wiring diagrams for the module. - Limitless PID โ€“ Autotuning โ€“ Individual or Cascade Mode - etc - Web Server and Mobile Access - The advanced Software instruction set The Productivity 1000 series of programmable logic controllers currently includes all of these features in the P1-540 CPU. This CPU (Central Processing Unit) is also known as an MPU (Multi-Processing Unit) due to its communication capabilities. Regards, Garry ACC Automation https://www.accautomation.ca
