Various rating systems help assess and certify sustainable interior spaces based on specific criteria. India has several energy rating systems to promote sustainability and efficiency in buildings and interiors: BEE Star Rating (Bureau of Energy Efficiency) – Rates appliances and buildings based on energy consumption. ECBC (Energy Conservation Building Code) – Sets energy efficiency standards for commercial buildings. GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) – India’s national green building certification, emphasizing energy efficiency and resource conservation. IGBC (Indian Green Building Council) Ratings – Includes IGBC Green Interiors, IGBC Existing Buildings, and IGBC Commercial ratings, encouraging sustainable design. These rating systems help reduce energy consumption and promote eco-friendly construction in India.
