The first stage is to work out all the 7ths for each chord. Then you want to come up with some sort of rhythm, keep a nice variety. Thirdly, add in the 7th chords to this rhythm. Lastly, add embellishments and extra notes from the scale. If you practice this enough it will become easier and easier, and what's better, is that you can apply this to ANY basic chord progression.
