I have 4 large raised beds on my property. Today is the day to improve and prepare the soil in one of them for winter. This step is not 100% necessary, but from observing soil in winter, I can say that protected/covered soil is a better soil. I forgot to mention that I will keep an eye on those raised beds through winter and make sure that soil in them is well hydrated, this will speed up the composting process.
