Here it is! My first installment getting reading for holiday gift giving. I will show you how to make your own vanilla extract on the cheap. I have found a place that sells amazing vanilla beans for a little price and I hope that you will look them up and try out their great vanilla. They are available on Amazon. When this video was first published nearly 7 years ago, I was able to procure vanilla beans very cheaply. I was able to purchase a pound of beans for less than $50. That is no longer the case. The price on vanilla beans has skyrocketed. Still the beans I have linked are about $2 each. This is still exponentially cheaper than the $8 to $10 per bean that is charged in the grocery store. So making your own is still more economical. It is as easy as I show and the vanilla that you make is 10x greater than what you will ever buy in the store. The vanilla sugar is a great thing to have on hand as well, use it in your coffee, cinnamon toast or to top those snickerdoodle cookies that we all love to make at holiday time, it will just add another level of flavor to you baked goods. So give this one a try, but do it now so your vanilla will have time to cure and remember to use only vodka that is 80 proof or better or this will not work. I hope you try this and I hope you enjoy it and as always, happy gifting and happy eating!
