In this video, we explore High-Resolution Timers (hrtimers) in the Linux
kernel as part of our Linux Device Driver Development series.
We start by understanding the difference between normal jiffies-based timers
and high-resolution timers, then implement both one-shot and periodic hrtimers in a kernel module.
You’ll see how to configure timer periods, measure timing accuracy in
nanoseconds, and observe real results using dmesg. This video also
demonstrates how accurate hrtimers are, even for very small intervals like 1 millisecond.
