Check out the full fluids playlist here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSQl0a2vh4HC7tmkuYc7nD8vIn2mOKQFS A difference in pressure between two locations causes a fluid to flow. Pressure differences can be created in various ways, such as removing air from one region (e.g., drinking through a straw) or maintaining a height of fluid (e.g., water towers). For an incompressible fluid, the rate at which matter enters a fluid-filled tube open at both ends must equal the rate at which fluid exits the tube. This conservation of mass is described by the continuity equation (A1v1 = A2v2). Sections: 00:00 - Intro 00:26 - What makes a fluid flow? 00:59 - How does water rise in a straw? 04:23 - How does water flow in pipe systems? 05:44 - Continuity equation ------------------ Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere.
