Division is the most difficult of the four basic arithmetical operations. Here we shed light on the Old Babylonian approach to division in their sexagesimal or base 60 system, by translating their arithmetic to the new base 100, or centimal" . We have some critical things to say about our current number systems and the logical weakness in dealing with "repeating decimals". The role of regular numbers is stressed, along with the importance of a "centimal reciprocal table". We also look at multiplication / division tables and their role.
