Brace yourself. Section 8.4 is going to be with us for a while. This section has been broken up into 7 videos. The first four, including this video, are videos to help us understand all of the moving parts of generating functions. Much of what I cover is glossed over in the textbook. Feel free to skip over anything you already know from the "readiness" videos. For this video, our focus is how to take application questions and model them using generating functions. This is an important step, but a fairly straightforward one. Video Chapters: Intro 0:00 Making Change Introduction 0:34 Modeling Making Change 1:18 Next Steps for Making Change 3:14 Linear Equation Model Practice 5:21 M&M's Practice 7:06 Pennies Practice 10:49 Up Next 13:42 This playlist uses Discrete Mathematics and Its Applications, Rosen 8e Power Point slide decks to accompany the videos can be found here: https://bellevueuniversity-my.sharepoint.com/:f:/g/personal/kbrehm_bellevue_edu/Ei9DcmrOBTlAuMxWUoq9ZqsB14M60jcpob-xdAYS6ruVWw?e=uP9KN0 The entire playlist can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLl-gb0E4MII0sGLCJeqDB3y63HZ6lM5LJ
