Start practicing—and saving your progress—now! https://www.khanacademy.org/science/ap-college-physics-1 Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity (a = Δv/Δt). The unit for acceleration is m/s/s, or m/s^2. Acceleration is a vector with magnitude and direction. If velocity and acceleration point the same direction, the object is speeding up. If velocity and acceleration point opposite directions, the object is slowing down. Changing direction is also a form of acceleration. Sections: 00:00 - Visualizing acceleration (Who wins the race?) 01:11 - What is acceleration? 02:54 - Acceleration can be tricky! 04:21 - Oil drop diagram and acceleration direction 07:40 - Acceleration when velocity is constant? 08:40 - Acceleration when speed is constant? ------------------ Khan Academy is a nonprofit organization with the mission of providing a free, world-class education for anyone, anywhere. Khan Academy has been translated into dozens of languages, and 15 million people around the globe learn on Khan Academy every month. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we would love your help!
