Common Interview Questions and Answers - Why Do You Want to Work Here? (Answer this Tricky Question)

Variations of this popular interview question include “Why are you interested in this position,” “Why do you want this job?” and “Why do you want to work for us?” But all three of these are asking the same thing. As long as you grasp this concept, you can take the best answer examples from this video and adapt it for your own use case. In this video I provide sample answers that address all the implicit questions the interviewer is looking for. These example answers have worked well for me and my community so I’m confident you will find some learnings here. First, the interviewer is trying to figure out whether or not you have a growth mindset. Whether you’re trying to improve yourself so you can benefit their company. Do you want the job because of superficial reasons (like salary, commute, and location) or are in it for the long run? Secondly, how much research have you done? Are you really interested in working for the company you’re interviewing with? Or is it just a stepping stone to something else? Finally, how enthusiastic are you about the role? What exactly about the position interests you? Can you provide specific examples that speak to why the role would benefit both the company and you?
