When to use the passé composé? Let's look at 5 different situations with examples: - To talk about something that took place in the past with a time reference - To describe an event that usually only happens once - To talk about something that happened repeatedly or at least a few times - To indicate something that happened suddenly - To talk about a series of actions taking place successively Remember that the passé composé is used to talk about an action taking place in the past and being completed in the past.
