I think executives and companies have two big challenges. One, they have a hard time pushing corporate strategy. Strategy is always, always, always, financial. And as a result, there aren't enough leaders inside of their organizations that understand the financial tenets of their strategies to help them in the execution of those strategies. And that's a significant problem. Because executive teams have a hard time executing their strategies by themselves, and that's the first problem. The second problem, they have a limited perspective of their own companies. That's not a fault of theirs, it's just you can only see what you see. And if we do things correctly, we teach leaders to think like the executives. To make the kinds of decisions that the executives would make, when faced with the decisions that they're faced with on a daily basis. Sometimes they have a hard time seeing that financial impact, so those are two challenges that I see that are very very common. They don't see every opportunity to improve the business, because they don't get to do every role inside of their company. So we do the next best thing, we teach leaders to think like them, to make the kinds of decisions they would make when faced with the decisions they're faced with on daily basis, and then help those leaders quantify the financial impact of their choices, decisions, and behaviors. Two amazing things happen. One, everyone in the organization becomes more aligned to the strategy, the goals, the objectives, and as a result of that alignment everyone's more engaged in the solving of the business problems that they're trying to solve. There's something really powerful when we connect people, and I think business acumen is a necessary skill to get people there. In my experience, it's not an unwillingness on people's parts, most of the time. It's just simply they don't know what to do. And business acumen can help them understand what to do, and leaders who have it can align their teams around critical concepts and engage them at a deeper level than they might feel connected to now. In a large organization people feel wildly disconnected from the economics of their businesses, and especially in their roles. In a support role, it's hard to quantify the impact that you're having, it's hard to see the connection between your work and what the organization is trying to do. And the way I think about business acumen, solves some of those challenges. Learn more about our Building Business Acumen training at https://www.acumenlearning.com/on-site-training.
