More Lessons: http://www.MathAndScience.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/JasonGibsonMath In this lessons we will discuss the important topics of energy and work in terms of their applications to chemistry and physics. We want to understand when an atom or molecule has electrons in a high energy state and how that compares to a low energy state and what this means. When we say energy, we are usually referring to potential energy, but we also discuss kinetic energy and contrast this with work, which is energy that has been used to move an object. Energy is very important to understand in chemistry because it governs how chemical reactions happen and determines when and how fast the reaction proceeds.
