Are there rules for writing a screenplay? I don’t think so. Or rather: there are a LOT - all sorts of theories and ideal structures - and most of them offer SOMETHING helpful. But in the end you need to figure out how to write YOUR SCRIPT. And I believe that means asking yourself QUESTIONS. These 6 questions are the most important that I know for figuring out how to turn a chaos of ideas and feelings into a dramatic story. = = = = = This channel is here to help you learn to write for screens - ANY kind of screens, from Hollywood tentpole to streaming series to DIY indie. I am no longer doing one-on-one script-consulting/coaching. But I’m still around! I’m on Substack: https://writingforscreens.substack.com. That’s where you can see what I’m sharing and working on now, and if you subscribe (it’s FREE!) you can ask questions in chats, share comments, and get into stuff with me and the community I hope to build there. Also: I’ve written a WRITING FOR SCREENS BOOK! You can buy it as a paperback or Kindle e-book on Amazon: PAPERBACK: https://www.amazon.com/Writing-Screens-Skills-Process-Screenwriting/dp/B0FXJ5MBWS/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2F5AGUZL3FA76&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.H_GOUtUBSBe8Z8-sxP9c2bDjeUIdNKNg2NMi9d1Pr2yvUq019ugEn7koxjbxOvDbF9xirTdv-E6v3P2kRLXAav6JATLSKPgIpG6GTtUgcJWDPI0mWrwCljPPmYVYmgNDUoF3b4g1t25op41tC_PXnw.Rsvb1MJszASDoqvpOxDhdlx59P5RqYaYxjHy8EXDT7w&dib_tag=se&keywords=Glenn+Gers&qid=1762199550&sprefix=glenn+ger%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-1 KINDLE: https://www.amazon.com/Writing-Screens-Skills-Process-Screenwriting-ebook/dp/B0FXHLKPN2/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&dib_tag=se&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.H_GOUtUBSBe8Z8-sxP9c2bDjeUIdNKNg2NMi9d1Pr2yvUq019ugEn7koxjbxOvDbF9xirTdv-E6v3P2kRLXAav6JATLSKPgIpG6GTtUgcJWDPI0mWrwCljPPmYVYmgNDUoF3b4g1t25op41tC_PXnw.Rsvb1MJszASDoqvpOxDhdlx59P5RqYaYxjHy8EXDT7w&qid=1762199550&sr=8-1 The paperback is also at Barnes & Noble online: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/writing-for-screens-glenn-gers/1148595966?ean=9798999787606 Or ask your local bookstore to order you a copy (through the distributor Ingram)!
