Generative Artificial Intelligence Systems such as chatGPT and GPT-4 continue to evolve rapidly. A recent open letter signed by over 1000 people has called for a pause of at least 6 months for the training of AI systems more powerful than GPT-4. The colloquium will briefly review the current AI status, explore the impact of AI, and consider whether or not the call for a pause is conceived.
