In this tutorial explaining how to give input at runtime ( bind variable /substitution operator ) in where clause of Oracle SQL query Substitution variables are a feature of the SQL*Plus tool. They have nothing to do with the way SQL is processed by the database server. When a substitution variable is used in a statement, SQL*Plus requests an input value and rewrites the statement to include it. The rewritten statement is passed to the database. As a result, the database server knows nothing of the substitution variable Oracle SQL Complete Tutorial/Training/Course for the beginner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v4s3XMw4q0&list=PLiLpmqwkwkCt0QeXD8j7BwIoOaBGBRrZC follow me on: Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/LrnWthr-319371861902642/?ref=bookmarks Contacts Email: [email protected] Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/equalconnect/ Twitter: https://twitter.com/LrnWthR #equalConnectCoach #rakeshmalviya #OracleTutorial
