Forecasting: determining future occurrences based on previous data. Translating experiences into a future. 2. Scheduling: establishing the timing of the use of equipment, facilities, and human activities in the organization. 3. Loading: the assignment of jobs to processing (work) centers. (i.e. to machine and people) 4. Inventory management: management of a stock or store of goods-keeping balance between raw materials (inputs) and outputs. 5. Quality control: a process that evaluates outputs relative to a standard, and takes corrective action when output doesn’t meet standards. 6. Work measurement: determining how long it should take to do a job. • Actual time- the time taken in reality. • Normal time-the average time to complete tasks. • Standard time- the time under normal conditions. 7.
