Here’s what you’re missing ⬇️ Modal verbs are used to express a person’s attitude towards something, whether we can, must, want to do something and so on... Therefore, they are extremely useful in everyday communication. ⭐ Why this is a turning point: Grammatically, this is a serious shift. Modal verbs usually need an additional verb to complete the meaning of a sentence. As a result, learners systematically begin to use sentences with TWO VERBS. How to make this transition smoother? ⭐ The one GOLDEN RULE to remember is: In a German sentence, you can only have one conjugated (changed) verb. In a sentence with multiple verbs, the modal verb is the dominant one and it will be conjugated. All other verbs must be used in non-changeable forms or in infinitive, which is the basic form of the verb before any changes have been made (kochen, machen, kaufen...).
