Using a transition matrix let's us do computation of Markov Chains far more efficiently because determining a future state from some initial state is nothing more than multiplying by a transition matrix. I show you how to go from a Transition Diagram to a Transition Matrix, the terminology used, and do an example to show you how to compute the probabilities.
