There are several physiological mechanisms involved in eye function that are crucial to understand for the IMAT exam. First is general how the eye is structured, the role of the retina and how it works. We also talk about the fundamentals of eye accommodation, meaning the focusing of the lens of the eyes. Additionally, Med School EU analyses the function of the pupil and how dilation and constriction occurs through the dilator and the sphincter muscles. Also, we do a compare and contrast of rods and cones based on their physiological function. Finally, we take a look at the optic chiasma that determines how we perceive light impulses and construct the image in our brain.
