How To Undo and Release a Ratchet Strap. How to Use a Ratchet Strap. Professional Load Securement and Strapping Tips. In this video Sean teaches you how to use a ratchet strap to secure furniture in a fully loaded moving truck, U-Haul, or box truck. Sean then goes on to explain how to release or undo a ratchet strap so that you can unload the items that you have just secured. Properly securing your loaded belongings is extremely important to keep your load from shifting as you drive. A properly secured load will keep your belongings from becoming damaged and prevent accidents from the loss of a load. Finally, properly securing your load will keep other drivers on the road around you safe. It is not just a good idea to secure your loaded truck, it is mandated by law.
