Today I'm going to explain how to set up a grid on your drawing paper. I've already explained how to set up a grid on your reference photo (see Part 1, above).
A grid is basically a series of lines that act as references for your drawing. They're especially helpful for portraits or very large pieces.
I use a 4H pencil to draw out my grid. This insures that my lines will either blend into my drawing, or be easy to erase later on. Any accidental dark lines should be lightened with an eraser.
