Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is a suite of cloud computing services offered by Google that provides infrastructure, platform, and software-as-a-service solutions for data storage, computing, machine learning, and more. It includes tools for application development, data analytics, and deployment. What is Virtual Private Cloud? A Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is a cloud computing environment that provides a private network within a public cloud infrastructure. It allows users to create isolated virtual networks within the cloud, with their own IP addresses, subnets, and routing tables. This provides enhanced security and control over network traffic. What is a network? A network is a group of interconnected devices or nodes that can communicate with each other and share resources, such as files, printers, and internet connectivity. Networks can be wired or wireless and can range in size from small local networks to global networks like the Internet. What are subnets? Subnets are smaller networks created within a larger network. They allow for more efficient use of IP addresses and help to organise and control network traffic. Devices within a subnet can communicate directly with each other without needing to go through a router. What are compute services? Compute services refer to cloud-based services that provide virtualised computing resources, such as processing power, memory, and storage, for running applications or workloads. These services enable users to quickly provision and scale resources on demand, reducing the need for on-premise infrastructure and upfront capital investment. What is cloud computing? Cloud computing is the delivery of computing services, including servers, storage, databases, networking, software, analytics, and intelligence, over the internet ("the cloud") to offer faster innovation, flexible resources, and economies of scale. Users pay only for what they use, without having to maintain their infrastructure. What is computer science? Computer science is the study of computers and computational systems. It encompasses the design, development, and analysis of algorithms, programming languages, software, and hardware. Computer scientists solve complex problems, create new technologies, and drive innovation in fields such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and robotics.
