Industrial Control Systems (ICS) and Operational Technology (OT) run the world around us. Power plants, offshore oil rigs, trains and other transportation systems, manufacturing plants – these are just a few examples of the critical infrastructure that society depends on. Each ICS/OT environment is unique and has specialized security requirements. Protecting critical infrastructure becomes more important each day as the frequency of cyber attacks and the number of attackers continues to grow. Nation state adversaries are no longer the only ones targeting these specialized environments. Today’s attackers include ransomware groups, hacktivists, cyber mercenaries, and more. ICS/OT cyber security can seem complicated and even daunting at first, but it does not have to be. This course will help participants understand the fundamentals of how these environments operate and how to secure such specialized networks. 0:00 Introduction 1:31 "You do you, just don't be a jerk." -Rob Lee 3:52 Part 1 Overview (ICS/OT/SCADA) 4:52 About the Instructor - Mike Holcomb 11:08 Getting Started in ICS/OT Cyber Security Resources 12:56 Why We Are Here 19:35 About the Course 21:46 Goals of the Course 23:28 Course Materials 26:27 Course Units 32:41 ICS/OT Cyber Security Certifications 44:39 Mandatory Reading Each Year (Dragos Year in Review, Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report) 47:04 ICS/OT Podcasts (CS2AI Podcast Show, Control Loop, Industrial Security Podcast, Unsolicited Response) 49:46 ICS/OT People to Follow on LinkedIn 52:00 ICS/OT Conferences 55:25 Other Resources 56:00 Guarding the Gears - Industrial Cyber Security Newsletter
