Download yours today: https://khub.me/v8uyl The elbow joint is happening between three bones. The first one is a large bone that defines the upper arm known as the humerus. Laterally in this joint you find another bone called the radius. And the third bone is a bone located medially on the forearm, the ulna. The elbow joint is a compound synovial joint. What do we mean by compound joint? Well, it means that the elbow joint is a large working structure that is made up of several smaller moving parts, or separate articulations. A synovial joint, otherwise known as a diarthrosis, is the most flexible type of joint, seeing as it achieves its range of movement at the point of contact between the articulating bones. On this video, we will cover the following topics: Bones of the elbow joint; Elbow joint and its respective joints: humeroradial joint, humeroulnar joint and proximal radio-ulnar joint; Joint capsule; Synovial membrane; Ligaments: Anular ligament of the radius, radial collateral ligament, ulnar collateral ligament. Nerve supply: median nerve, radial nerve, ulnar nerve and musculocutaneous nerve. Want to test your knowledge on the different joints of the Human body?
